CAL TERRA has been approved for the DHS funded Government Emergency Telecommunications Service (GETS) and the Wireless Priority Service (WPS) for use with the new T-Mobile Connecting Heroes account. All command staff will be receiving their cards within a few weeks. Human Resources will be sending an email to let you know when to come pick up your cards.
CAL TERRA has joined T-Mobile's cellular service for First Responder Agencies and we are pleased to partner with them on their 10 year plan.
Currently CAL TERRA collaborated with other entities and finalized a comprehensive training delivered over 3 days in response to the COVID 19 outbreak in our communities. We are utilizing best practices in our training delivery to keep social distancing guidelines while still providing world class training. Our training division has been trained in Hospital Emergency Response Training (HERT) by the Center for Domestic Preparedness, CDP; Environmental Health Training Emergency Response (EHTER OPS) by the CDP and State of California; HAZWOPER; CPR/First Aid; Blood Borne Pathogens; Respiratory Protection (RP) by the CDP; Law Enforcement Response Actions (LERA) by the CDP; HAZCOM/GHS; and decontamination techniques as taught by CTOSNNSA, CDP, and FEMA.
The above training will be conducted in person and via web based interactive instruction.
Not only is it applicable during this COVID 19 pandemic, these same trainings are extremely valuable and needed during fire cleanup as demonstrated during the past 4 years in the Northern California fires: Camp Fire, Tubbs Fire, Coffey Park Fire, etc...
Funds for this training are available to all Tribes under the recently signed CARES ACT, with 8 billion dollars being dispersed to the Tribes by April 26, 2020.
If your Tribal Nation, organization, or business would like to book this training contact CAL TERRA at Kmamigonian@calterra.org
Training dates will start May 4th, 2020.
Thank you and stay safe!
Like many of you, we are following the updates about COVID-19. Your well-being has always been a top priority for us at CAL TERRA, and we want to be open and transparent about the additional precautions we are taking to protect all of our volunteers. With that being said, all CAL TERRA meetings will be put on hold until further notice. Command Staff will meet virtually in order to keep operations flowing smoothly.
We highly encourage all volunteers to follow the best practices listed below to help keep yourself and others healthy.
We are closely monitoring updates from the Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization regarding COVID-19 and we are committed to maintaining a healthy and safe environment for our volunteers.
Thank you for assisting us in achieving this goal, and we look forward to seeing you for our next staff meeting.
